Who We Are
Books 4 Everyone is a volunteer organization that promotes literacy in Fairfield County. We collect gently used children's books and personally deliver them to needy schools, homeless shelters and community organizations. We also have volunteers who maintain libraries at a wide range of nursing homes and senior centers.
We started in January of 2015 and have delivered over 180,000 books by June 2019.
We continue to expand the number of good quality children's books we receive in order to fulfill the needs of the 70+ organizations we support.
How Can You Help?
We currently get our books from Greenwich Recycling, Darien Book Aid, as well as many libraries, schools and community organizations. We are always looking for good quality used children's books find lots of new sources. We are open to any suggestions you may have. Some ideas for collecting new books include.....
School, church or community based book drives: We can always help you set these up.
Real Estate Agents: When people are ready to move, the first thing they usually need to do is pare down the clutter in their house. Now, I would never call books clutter, but we'd be very happy if they were steered our way so they can be redistributed!
Girl or Boy Scout Troops: A book drive would be a great event as the kids can also be involved in sorting the books and determining where they would like to donate them
